Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how LedgerBridge Accounting ("I", "me", "my"), operated by Ankit Marasini as an Independent Sole Trader in the United Kingdom, collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data. It applies to visitors to ledgerbridgeaccounting.co.uk and to individuals who engage my accounting services. I am the Data Controller responsible for the personal data described below.

2. Personal Data I Collect

Depending on how you interact with me, I may collect: your full name; business name and structure; contact details including email, telephone number and postal address; details of the services you enquire about; financial and accounting records provided for the purpose of the engagement; bank statements and transaction records where relevant; identification documents where required for anti-money laundering checks; and correspondence between us.

3. Lawful Bases for Processing

I process personal data on the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (delivering the services you have engaged me for); compliance with legal obligations (record-keeping and anti-money laundering); legitimate interests (responding to enquiries, running the practice, and preventing fraud); and consent (for optional communications, which you may withdraw at any time).

4. How Your Data Is Used

5. Data Sharing

I do not sell personal data. I only share personal data where necessary: with cloud accounting platforms used to deliver the service (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent); with secure document storage and portal providers; with HMRC or other regulatory bodies where legally required; and with payment processors (Stripe) for handling checkout payments. All third parties are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

6. International Transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, I ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

7. Data Retention

Financial and accounting records are retained for a minimum of six years in line with UK statutory requirements. Enquiry correspondence from prospective clients is deleted within twelve months if no engagement follows. Anti-money laundering records are retained for five years after the end of the business relationship.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data I hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure where lawful; object to processing based on legitimate interests; restrict processing in certain circumstances; and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@ledgerbridgeaccounting.co.uk.

9. Security

Personal data is stored in encrypted, access-controlled systems. Multi-factor authentication is enforced on all core systems. Documents shared through the client portal are encrypted in transit and at rest.

10. Complaints

If you have concerns about how your personal data is handled, please contact me first so that I can address them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

11. Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in law or in my practices. The latest version is always available on this page.
